Buying a used car has always been a way for motorists to get the most out of their money – getting them the car they want, whilst saving a little bit of cash on the side. Of course, there are sacrifices to be made and certain precautions to be considered, and the same goes if you’re going to be buying yourself a used luxury car. Be it a used Rolls Royce, a used Bentley or even a used Maybach, the same principles apply: do your homework!Buying a used Bentley might not be for everyone, but if it’s a Bentley you want to put in your garage and you still want to watch the bank balance, buying used could be precisely the way forward for you.
Found yourself eyeing up the infamous Continental GT? Of course, its eye-catching, gorgeous looks are hard to miss, whilst the sheer thrill the 6.0 litre, twin turbocharged W12 powerhouse under the bonnet provides is hard to forget. It’s arguably the best grand tourer out there: comfortable, luxurious, and utterly swift.
Well, how much is it? Brand new, one of these iconic motors would cost you close to £110,000. Add any other gadgets or trinkets into the mix and the price tags begin to creep upwards of £140,000. However, if you’re looking into buying a used Bentley Continental GT, the options open to you are pretty surprising. A practically brand new ’09 reg Continental GT with 700 miles on the clock could be fetched for just under £100,000. A slightly older ’08 reg with 4,000 miles on the clock would set you back around £92,000, whilst an even older ’04 reg with 50,000 miles on the clock can be snapped up for as little as £40,000. Of course, all of the usual precautions involved with buying a used car need to be taken into account. But it’s a Continental GT you’re after, the savings there are to be made are pretty apparent.
These exact same savings are equally available on any used Bentley you can find. Even the flagship, the Azure, can be found nearly new or used with substantial reductions on the price tags. Retailing brand new around £220,000, the Azure was the epitome of supreme luxury motoring. Appearing in the most prestigious of events and the most popular of music videos alike, the Azure is somewhat of a fashionably understated icon. Looking for one used? Play your cards right and you might be able to bag yourself an ’08 reg Azure saloon with 4,000 miles on the clock for £175,000: a hefty saving for one of the most ubiquitous cars on the planet.
